Greetings all in the name of Jesus Christ.
Hope all is well with you this week.
We had a lovely turnout for church on Sunday and were blessed with communion and special music. It was a joy to see so many of you there!
Please take note of a few things for our calendar:
Today: Yoga at noon. Tell your friends! We have some new people coming to
yoga. All you need is a mat.
Tomorrow and Friday - Exercise, Eat and Pray, at 10AM in the room behind the kitchen. It's as challenging as you want to make it!
Session Meeting Next Tuesday, 4:00PM, September 10th in the Library. We moved it up by one week.
Prayers:
Linda - continued healing after surgery
Gloria - Teresa Brake's sister, still having trouble after surgery
Glenda - getting ready for surgery
Our Church, needing to grow
The people of Odessa, Texas, after the shootings
Areas affected by Dorian
Becky - Wayne and Sharon's daughter, who is traveling extensively today
Ryan - as he prepares to head home to Hawaii to care for grandparents
Hope I haven't forgotten anyone. This Sunday I spoke a lot about trying to know our neighbors, and the neighborhood around our church. I would like to direct your attention to an article from August 21st of the Quay County Sun that tells us an awful lot in the way of statistics, and the needs of our community. Click here for the article. It is part of our work as Christians to try and understand our neighbors.
Friends, I hope your week ahead is bright with possibility. And I hope that you had a good Labor Day weekend.
Blessings and peace,
Rev. Amy
